Eric Rucker is a performing percussion educator, composer and arranger based in Palm Beach County, Florida. During his early years, Eric studied with Paul Moore II (Cincinnati Orchestra, Cincinnati Conservatory). During this period, Eric performed on percussion and piano for over 75 professional theatrical productions with the Charleston Light Opera Guild.    

 After completing high school, Eric attended West Virginia University on a full scholarship for Music Education. During this time, he studied with George Willis (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra) and Al Wrublesky (Pittsburgh Ballet and Opera). Eric was active in the WVU Wind Symphony, orchestra and percussion ensembles. He was also a four year member and section leader for the Sudler Trophy winning Pride of West Virginia Marching Band drumline.

After college, Eric spent 6 years teaching and writing music in public schools in Prince William County, VA and Palm Beach County, FL. During this time, he was nominated for teacher of the year in both cities. In 2011, left his teaching position at Plumosa School of the Arts to focus on percussion education in Palm Beach county.

Eric is currently the percussion instructor at 6 schools throughout Palm Beach county. When Eric is not in the role as an educator, he can be found performing with the Maltz theater, the Florida Wind Symphony, the Orchid City Brass Band, and other local groups.
